Introduction to Analogue Modular Synthesis
This workshop covers the basics of electronic audio synthesis – giving a theoretical foundation – and inviting participants to apply these concepts, by hands-on working (playing) with a eurorack modular synthesizer. Additionally, we’ll outline some advanced topics in synthesis, such as performance and cybernetics. Those joining the workshop are welcome to bring any synths they may like to explore in this context. DIY electronics: Noise, Distortion, Degradation and Hardware-Hacking – session I
A workshop surveying the creative possibilities of electronic noise generation and signal distortion. Participants explore hands-on various noise-making and analogue signal processing devices – having a chance to improvise with various approaches to audio and video distortion. The ingredients for making and modifying one’s own electronic devices are also presented, and this will comprise an overview of what steps are involved in a Do-it-Yourself (DIY) electronics / hadware-hacking creative process.
